Relationship & Marital Therapy
Healing Relational Distress & Complex Trauma together

insightful, direct, supportive

Intimate relationships can be a source of great joy and fulfillment, but also an area in which our deepest fears and vulnerabilities arise. Problems in relationships often come from old ways of coping that served you in the past but now keep you from trusting and connecting.

creating connection, transforming difficult interactions

Sometimes we get caught in negative cycles that eat away at intimacy and a sense of having a loving and trusting relationship. These cycles tend to be self-reinforcing and keep you trapped in hurtful interactions.

I can help you identify these cycles, stop them, and create new ones so you can feel close and connected to your loved ones again. We will work collaboratively to strengthen and rebuild a strong emotional bond. This emotional security and sense of comfort is what ultimately allows you to resolve conflict, increase vulnerability, communicate better, and live happier lives.

I welcome diverse populations in relationship therapy, including all sexual orientations, genders, and relationship structures.

Complex trauma in relationships

My specialty is working with relationships in which one or both partners has experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect. My work with relationships draws upon trauma-informed Interpersonal Neurobiology and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a structured systems therapy that helps shift negative interactions into positive ones. I have advanced training in EFT and have trained with Sue Johnson, the founder EFT, as well as Bessel van der Kolk and Janina Fisher, both experts in the treatment of Complex Trauma. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and have over a decade of experience helping people heal from trauma.
