Who do you work with? |
If you’re seeking support for painful relationship patterns tied to childhood trauma, emotional neglect, sexual abuse, parental mental illness, family dysfunction, or other forms of ongoing relational trauma, you’ve come to the right place. I work with adults and couples to create safe, healthy relationships and foster healing and growth.
I also provide consultation for therapists and mental health professionals with trauma histories to process their experiences, address burnout, and deepen their personal healing. |
Where are you located? |
I’m licensed in California and my practice is based in San Francisco. My sessions are conducted online, so I can work with adults across the state. I'm also licensed in Florida, Michigan, Nevada and Vermont.
Consultation for mental health professionals does not need to take place in one of the above states. |
How does online therapy work? |
You’ll need a private space, reliable internet, and a device with a camera and microphone. We’ll use a HIPAA-compliant video platform for our sessions. You’ll receive an email and text message with a secure link before each session. Just click the link to get started!
|
Is online therapy effective? |
Yes! Research shows that online therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy. Many clients appreciate online therapy for the convenience, comfort, and accessibility.
|
How do we get started? |
Click here to see my availability and request a free 15-minute consultation online. In our consultation, we’ll talk about your needs and goals, and I’ll share how I can help. If we’re a good fit, we can schedule your first session. If not, I’m happy to connect you with another therapist who might be a better match.
|
What can I expect during the first session? |
In our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other and creating a space where you feel heard and understood. I’ll ask about your background, what’s working well for you, and where you’d like to see some changes. From there, we’ll talk about how therapy can help you move toward the changes you want to see.
|
How often will we meet? |
Most people find that meeting weekly creates a steady rhythm and helps us build a strong connection. This consistency helps us stay focused and make meaningful progress toward the changes that matter most to you.
|
How long will therapy take? |
The length of therapy depends on your goals, challenges, and individual needs. Some clients see progress in less than a year, while others benefit from longer-term therapy, particularly when addressing complex trauma or deep-rooted patterns. Many of my clients opt for biweekly sessions as part of ongoing, long-term support. Regular maintenance sessions are often essential for sustaining mental and emotional well-being, especially for those with relational or complex trauma.
|
What are your fees? |
Fees are due at time of service and may be adjusted annually.
|
What's your availability? |
My session hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 AM to 3 PM Pacific Time. I'm unavailable for appointments outside these hours, including Fridays, evenings, and weekends.
|
Do you accept insurance? |
I’m an out-of-network provider, which means I don’t bill insurance directly. Many PPO insurance plans will reimburse you for all or part of your therapy costs. I can give you a monthly receipt, called a superbill, to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. You can also use a Health Savings Account (HSA) to pay for therapy.
If you plan to seek reimbursement, I recommend contacting your insurance provider beforehand to understand their policies for out-of-network mental health services. Here are some questions you might ask:
|
Why choose a real therapist vs a "therapy" app or mental health platform? |
"Therapy" apps can help, but they’re no substitute for working with a licensed therapist. Apps can complement therapy with tools like mindfulness reminders or brief text-based support, but they fall short for those needing ongoing, in-depth care. These platforms often share user data and lack the rigorous ethical and legal standards that licensed therapists uphold, which can undermine privacy and trust. While apps may seem convenient and affordable, they cannot replace the tailored guidance, expertise, and deeper therapeutic connection that working directly with a mental health professional provides—often essential for meaningful and lasting healing.
|
What's your cancellation policy? |
I have a one week cancellation policy. Your appointment time is reserved just for you. No-shows and late cancellations with less than one week's notice are charged the full session fee regardless of reason. Rescheduling for another time during the same week is sometimes an option, depending on availability.
|
Do you prescribe medications? |
I do not prescribe medication. If you believe medication could be a helpful component to your therapeutic work, I'm happy to process this possibility with you. I can also provide referrals to psychiatrists that prescribe medication.
|
What is a Good Faith Estimate? |
As of January 1, 2022, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. The "Good Faith Estimate” explains how much your medical and mental health care will cost. It will be included in your initial intake documents. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
|
Is this practice inclusive? |
My practice is a welcoming space for everyone, including people from all cultures, ethnicities, religions, sexual orientations, genders, relationship structures, and neurodivergent people. While I mainly work with women and heterosexual couples, I'm happy to support people of all genders and sexualities. I strive to create an environment built on connection, empowerment, and safety.
